Simon Hughes MP says the Foxton Centre "deserves maximum support."

On a visit to Preston today, Simon Hughes MP, President of the Liberal Democrats, visited the Foxton Centre in Avenham with Councillor Mark Jewell to discuss their youth and community work and plans for the future.

After his Foxton Centre visit, where they were shown around by the Director of the centre, Mr Tim Keightley, Mr Hughes said, "The Foxton Centre clearly does a huge amount of excellent work in Preston and deserves maximum support. The centre has a great track record, particularly working with the homeless and young people and deserves a secure future. This means securing funding for the years ahead. The City has many wealthy individuals and companies and generous charitable trusts. Now is the time for them to make an investment in Preston that is the best that money can buy."

At the end of his visit today, Simon Hughes MP said,"It's really good to see Preston flourish 5 years after it became a city. The challenge for the future is to make sure that the prosperity and opportunities of the city are shared amongst all of it's people."
