A Fresh Start for Britain

LibDems want a fairer tax system and will cut taxes for people on low to middle incomes paid for by closing tax loopholes

Liberal Democrat campaigners from Preston have welcomed the party's call to cut taxes for people on low and middle income. The plan will be paid for by closing tax loopholes used by the very wealthy to avoid paying their fair share of taxes.

Mark Jewell, who will be battling to win Preston at the General Election from Labour, was at the LibDem conference in Bournemouth when the tax cutting plan was agreed.

"The plan is part of a bigger package of badly needed reforms that we are offering," said Mark. "Called A Fresh Start for Britain, we will also create green jobs to help the economy recover and protect our environment and make sure every child gets the best chance in life."
