There is widespread support to Keep the National Football Museum in Preston

Mark Jewell and the Preston Liberal Democrats have led the way to keep the National Football Museum in Preston.

Cllrs Mark Jewell and Danny Gallagher raised a Notice of Motion at Council for the Chief Executive of Preston City Council to write to the football authorities and government ministers to make the case for keeping the museum in Preston.

As a newly elected County Councillor Mark Jewell also requested a working task group to address how Lancashire County Council and Preston City Council could work together to help fund the museum.

Mark said, "I am delighted that an offer has now been put to the trustees of the museum to keep it in Preston. I fully support the Lancashire Evening Post campaign and hope the trustees will make the right decision and Keep the National Football Museum in Preston."

Mark has raised a facebook campaign site to Keep the National Football Museum in Preston, currently with over 3,400 supporters.
