Save Star Youth Club

March 13, 2016 10:36 PM

Star Youth Club is well used by teenagers

Local Liberal Democrats are leading the campaign to save the Star Youth Club with a petition that every local resident can support.

Ashton Lib Dem campaigner, Mark Jewell, said, "The Star Youth Club is the only Youth Club in the West of Preston. With such severe cuts proposed by County Hall even the Youth zone proposed at the bus station must now be in doubt."

Mark added, "For these reasons we have created a petition to save the Star Youth cluband better utilise the building. This is a well used club on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and has huge potential to be better utilised during the day".

When Mark the County Councillor for the area, he requested Star Youth Club be refurbished, and it was. Now Labour are looking to sell it off.

An e-petition has been raised on the Lancashire County Council website to Save Star Youth Club. It asks the Council to give consideration to better utilising the building and/or providing access to a variety of services.
