Update on Greavestown Lane Flooding

December 9, 2017 5:57 PM

In our winter focus we reported local flooding on Greavestown Lane.

Local campaigner Ed Craven highlighted the issue to fellow campaigner Mark Jewell. Mark wrote to Lancashire County Council to report it.

In an update on the Lancashire County Council website it was reported as closed on 27th November 2017 (ref: 268297).

Mark Jewell commented, " When walking the dog last Thursday (7th Dec) after a heavy downpour all night, the junction of Greavestown Lane with Blackpool Road was again flooded. By the time I passed the junction again, on the way to work, the water had drained away. I do not see that the problem has been solved or that any obvious remedial work has been undertaken to the sunken drain and cover".

Mark has now written to Lancashire County Council again requesting what work was actually undertaken to close this report and made a further report of the continued flooding at this junction.
